Content Standards & Editorial Focus

We only publish actionable, highly accurate legal insights. To get published, your submission needs to solve a specific problem for our readers, analyze a recent court decision, or address a timely legal trend.

1. Accepted Topics Include:

Category Examples
Personal Injury & Accidents Brain injury, traumatic brain injury, catastrophic injury, medical malpractice
Family Law Divorce, child custody, guardianship, domestic violence
Criminal Law Criminal defense, white-collar crime, DUI/DWI
Immigration Law Visas, citizenship policy, deportation defense
Employment Law Workplace discrimination, wrongful termination, workers’ compensation
Business & Corporate Law Contracts, corporate compliance, tax law
Legal Technology AI in legal practice, cybersecurity for law firms, case management tools
Compliance & Risk Financial regulation, risk management, regulatory disclosure
Consumer Rights Lemon law, consumer protection, product liability
When pitching, develop a compelling topic idea that reflects current trends in legal technology and AI, or explores emerging legal fields, business-of-law topics, or in-depth analysis of substantive law — timely, trend-aware submissions are preferred. Topics that address recent court decisions, new legislation, or pending legal debates are especially welcome.

2. Content Standards

  • Originality is Mandatory: Your legal guest post must be 100% unique, original, and exclusively written for FindUsLawyers.org. It must not be published anywhere else online (including your own firm’s blog) now or in the future. Low quality or spun content is not accepted.
  • Word Count: Guest posts should typically be between 800 to 1,500 words. For longer, detailed guides, we recommend that length only when the topic requires deeper coverage. Each article must include a short author bio with relevant professional details.
  • Accuracy & Editorial Review: All legal claims, citations, statistics, and references to case law or statutes must be supported by links to authoritative, non-promotional sources (e.g., .gov sites, primary case law, or recognized bar associations). Because legal information directly impacts readers’ lives, our in-house editorial team strictly reviews and fact-checks all submissions for adherence to YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) standards before publication.
  • Structure & Formatting: Contributors should ensure their articles are well-structured, free of plagiarism, and aligned with our editorial standards.

What We Do Not Accept:

  • AI-Generated Content: AI tools may assist with outlining, but the article must reflect your own human analysis, experience, and case-based insight.
  • Promotional Content: Overtly promotional pieces where the legal analysis is secondary to advertising your firm.
  • Unsupported Legal Claims: Statements about case law, statutes, or outcomes that are not backed by citations to authoritative primary sources (.gov sites, court records, recognized bar associations).
  • Agency Link-Building Content: Generic overviews designed solely to host an outbound link.

3. Formatting and Readability

  • Structure: Use clear, descriptive headings (H2, H3, H4) to break up the text. Use short paragraphs (3–4 sentences maximum), bullet points, and numbered lists to improve scannability.
  • Tone: Professional, insightful, and accessible. Simplify complex legal concepts for the general reader without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Keywords: Naturally integrate your article’s primary keyword into the title, introduction, and at least one subheading. Do not keyword stuff.
  • Images & Multimedia: We encourage original charts, graphs, or infographics to help explain complex legal concepts. If supplying an image, ensure it’s high-resolution (minimum 900×480 pixels) and that you own the rights or it’s royalty-free.

4. Linking Policy

  • Internal Linking: Include a minimum of 1 relevant internal link to other published articles on FindUsLawyers.org.
  • External Links: Contributors may include up to one relevant link to their law firm website or professional profile, in the author bio. These links are tagged appropriately per search engine guidelines — they’re there so readers can find and verify you, not to influence search rankings. Links must be natural, relevant, and non-promotional.
  • Contextual Links: You may include one (1) additional, non-promotional link to a helpful resource on your firm’s site, but only if it genuinely adds value and context to the article.
  • Prohibited: Excessive, irrelevant, or overly commercial links will result in rejection. Anchor text must be natural (e.g., “learn more about legal ethics,” not “best car accident attorney”). We reserve the right to reject links or submissions that don’t meet these guidelines.
Guest authors play a vital role in contributing valuable, well-researched content to the legal community. Readers value informative content from credible legal sources — which is exactly what we’re looking for.

Author Bio Guidelines

Your author bio should be concise — ideally no more than 40–60 words — while clearly stating your name, professional title, and areas of legal expertise. Include a link to your law firm’s website or your professional social media profile so readers have a direct way to learn more about your services. Example Author Bio (52 words) Jordan Ellis is a family law attorney at Ellis & Rowe LLP in Denver, CO, focusing on custody disputes and high-asset divorce. Jordan has practiced family law for nine years and regularly writes on co-parenting strategy and Colorado family court procedure. Connect with Jordan at ellisrowelaw.com. Example Author Bio (38 words — shorter option) Priya Nakamura is a compliance attorney advising mid-sized financial services firms on regulatory risk. She writes about voluntary disclosure, AML compliance, and financial regulation at nakamuralegal.com. Formula: Name + title/role + firm or focus area + 1 specific specialty + link. Skip generic phrases like “passionate about the law” — name the actual practice area and one credential specific to you.

What Makes a Strong Submission

The guest posts that perform best on Find US Lawyers share a few things in common: they answer a specific question a real client would ask, they cite primary sources (statutes, case law, or agency guidance) rather than general claims, and they come from someone who can speak to the topic firsthand — a practicing attorney, in-house counsel, or a specialist who’s handled the issue directly.

If you’re unsure whether your topic fits, the fastest way to find out is to pitch us a one-paragraph summary before you write the full piece — see the submission steps above.
